Need Travel Resources to Help Adventure Planning?

There's nothing more exciting to me than adventure planning. THAT'S the real fun side of putting together a trip.
So what's the difference between adventure planning and trip planning you might ask?
By my definition trip planning is more about the logistical side of travel. These are the 'how' and 'how much will it cost' pieces of the puzzle.
Booking flights, sleeping accommodations, ground transportation, etc etc. These are all very, very important pieces to putting together a successful adventure and often times are the pieces that are most budget sensitive.
On the flip side we have adventure planning!
Adventure planning is the fun part of booking a vacation. It's the 'what' and 'where' pieces of the puzzle.
When we decided to spend four days hiking the Salkantay Trek in Peru we focused on the adventure piece first. Once we knew what we were doing and where we were going, we figured out how we were going to get there.
